Why you should use waterproofing Paint for Basement and foundations?


The basement is an area of the house that leaking and exposed to water problems. And if you don’t deal with this mater seriously from the beginning you will pay the cost of repairs in the future. So why you don't prevent this from happening? while waterproofing basement paint will not cost more than a few extra money for the waterproofing paint and the worker cost but it would surely for certain that you would not need to deal with more damages and costly maintenance in the future.


What is that meaning of waterproof paint in general?
Waterproof paint can either resist or completely waterproof water, waterproof paint is the paint you need to paint bathrooms and basements. You can also use this type of paint outside your home for things like water tanks, birdbaths and boats. Such paint is usually made with concrete base, latex or oil, all of which can offer heavy duty waterproof shutter. The type of waterproof paint employed actually depends on where it will be used and how much pressure it needs to resist. It is usually however utilized on either concrete or wood when inside the house.

We can't use ordinary paint for the purposes of water resistance because it will not withstand the dampness of either bathroom or basement thus the need to use a waterproof paint to seal off the moisture is important. Walls that are not waterproofed with paint and exposed to continuous moisture will allow molds to upsurge which can be quite unattractive to look. And also, this build-up of mildews in your walls will pose health risk which you can really avoid by adopting appropriate safety measures. Waterproof paint will ensure that moisture penetration through walls will be prevented, and keeping your house safe and your family safe from any possible health risk.
However, for the waterproof paint to be able to do its job, you need to follow some simple rules and manufacturer instructions when applying it. To be totally effective, a waterproof paint needs to be applied on a clean and dry surface for it to hold fast and strongly to the walls. Cracks and small fissures need to be sealed with cement materials before you apply the paint since the paint alone cannot seal it off on its own. For extremely damp walls, you might need to apply a dehumidifier for some days before actually putting on the paint for it to properly cling.

there are several special types of waterproof paints that you can use in waterproofing the basement of your house. These are the heavy-duty type paints which are highly water resistance materials and very effective even in outdoor structures or objects which are continuously exposed to rain and humid such as boats and water tanks. It contains chemicals which allow the protection of an object encased in waterproof paint even when submerged in water. This type of paint is also highly recommended for use in your basement as it posses the ability of a heavy duty sealant since it has zero solvents and it can preserve its thickness even when it is drying.
