How to estimate the cost of your home?

Cost estimation of your home does not need that much of experience; the first thing you need to know is to read the plans of your construction home. And if don’t know how to read the plans you can get assistance form browsing the web or some help from a specialist engineer, and this will be easy if you have the a basic knowledge of measurement units such as meter, inches and to use the tap measure. And you know how to calculate square meter of an area, cubic meter of a volume this would be quite enough to start your calculations.

The next step is to know the type and cost of material you are going to use in your home project.

Here are the main steps you can follow for cost estimation:

1.      Kind of labor and skills to be needed to accomplish all the activities of the project in terms of working hours. and if you still don’t understand how to know the number of each type of skill you need here how to calculate it(if you have an area of 1600m² of floor tile and the tiller man can tile of around 24m² a day =3 m²/hour by dividing the  2880m²/3 m²=1040 working hours which equal to a 130 working days and if your project should be completed in 60 working days you should have 2 tiller man to accomplish this work on time and this simple calculation you can apply for the rest of activities.
2.      Write a list of man power required for the project start from engineer, construction foreman, the skilled workers and helpers.
3.      Apply the total number of labors you need to accomplish the project, and you should know the laws and rights of the labor to take in account all required considerations.
4.      After identifying the two direct cost labor and materials, try to estimate the supervision cost and the indirect materials to be used to finish the project.
5.      After calculating the total of material, labor, supervision cost, and indirect cost, we provide the contractor’s profit . it is normally between 10-25% of the direct cost depending on the duration of your home construction project. The tax is separately added after the contractor’s profit. The final total number you reach is called your estimated construction cost.

This cost estimate would serve as your guide in conducting the bidding for the home construction project in selecting the contractor to do the work. This will also help as the guiding figure in monitoring your budget for the project in the implementation of your home designs.
